Meet the Ernya

The Ernya are a new species that is available to players in the Ephemeris Role Playing Game.  They can be found in the Ephemeris Species Compendium of Deep Space Species at

The Ernya are an aggressive and ill-tempered species. If it weren’t for the Khruntha, the Ernya would be the most aggressive species in “Deep Space.” The Ernya are seven feet tall with four legs and two heavily muscled arms. Their skin is greenish in color, and they have three eyes. Two set at the front of the head, and one at the back of the head. The rear eye only sees in black & white, and it doesn’t have anywhere near the clarity of the front eyes. The extra eye does, however, give the Ernya a +1 bonus on their search and spot skill checks. The extra legs give them a +4 bonus on their balance checks.

All of the Ernya’s sensory organs are actually inside of their head. They have no protrusions whatsoever anywhere on their head. The Ernya are an asexual species. They bud every four years of their adult lives.

The Ernya homeworld is in Sector 49, and they’ve been in space for five centuries. During that time, they’ve waged war with just about anyone they could find, and only the Khruntha have been able to consistently beat them back. Their wars with the Julahmo have been particularly brutal, and it’s very rare that members of the two species will work together.

When created, an Ernya character receives a +1 bonus to both their Strength and their Endurance, and they receive a -1 penalty to their Charisma and their Agility.
